Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:

  • Supervise cutting, punching, bending, and welding processes to ensure adherence to engineering specifications.
  • Verify dimensional accuracy, bend allowances, and quality at all production stages.
  • Ensure job cards are accurately prepared and implement rigorous inspection protocols.
  • Directly supervise fabrication personnel, assign tasks, and monitor workflow to eliminate idle time.
  • Record daily attendance, manage shift schedules, and authorize overtime when required.
  • Train new hires and upskill existing workers on fabrication techniques, safety practices, and quality standards.
  • Proactively identify and resolve bottlenecks in operations.
  • Ensure timely material requisitions and proper handling, storage, and identification of parts and materials.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and efficient work areas following 5S principles.
  • Enforce strict compliance with all company safety policies and PPE requirements.
  • Conduct regular safety briefings and audits.
  • Ensure machinery is operated safely and maintained properly; report malfunctions immediately.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 5 years of experience in a manufacturing supervisory role.
  • Significant experience in sheet metal fabrication (cutting, bending, welding).
  • Proficient in reading engineering drawings, GD&T, and job travellers.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a production team, particularly blue-collar workers.
  • Fluency in Hindi (mandatory due to workforce composition).
  • Must be proficient in:
  • Laser cutting machine operation (mandatory)
  • Press brake/bending machines, including understanding allowances, dies, and tools
  • Welding processes: TIG, MIG, Spot, and Laser Welding

Preferred Qualifications (Advantageous):

  • Experience with electrical switchgear fabrication (enclosures, bus supports, brackets).
  • Fluency in English.
  • Knowledge of CAD/CAM software such as AutoCAD, Metalix, CypCut, or SolidWorks.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Formal technical qualification (Welding Certification, Machining, Engineering Diploma).
