Facade Lighting Engineer NAGA - ARCHITECTS & DESIGNERS & PLANNERS

ROLE OVERVIEW

We are seeking a talented and technically rigorous Facade Lighting Engineer to join our specialist design team. The ideal candidate will combine architectural sensitivity with strong engineering expertise, translating design intent into integrated and impactful night-time lighting experiences for landmark developments. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of facade lighting design — from concept and technical development through to site delivery — while coordinating closely with facade consultants, architects, and MEP teams. A consultancy background is strongly preferred, and experience on GCC projects is essential.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and review facade lighting concepts, technical layouts, fixture schedules, and detailed design packages that are aligned with the architectural identity and night-time visual strategy of each project.

• Translate architectural concepts and design intent into fully integrated, technically feasible night-time lighting experiences.

• Coordinate facade lighting design across architecture, facade engineering, landscape, electrical, and MEP disciplines to ensure design cohesion and technical compatibility.

• Perform and review lighting calculations including lux levels, beam angles, uniformity ratios, and energy consumption assessments.

• Specify and evaluate lighting fixtures, control systems (DMX/DALI), LED technology, mounting details, power infrastructure, and facade integration requirements.

• Ensure all lighting designs comply with project requirements, local authority regulations, sustainability targets, energy efficiency standards, and dark-sky compliance requirements where applicable.

• Coordinate with suppliers, lighting specialists, contractors, and facade consultants to confirm material suitability, mock-up outcomes, and installation feasibility.

• Review shop drawings, material submittals, mock-ups, and site installation details to ensure design intent is faithfully delivered.

• Support site inspections, commissioning, photometric testing, and project handover activities.

• Manage multiple concurrent project deliverables while maintaining design quality and meeting programme milestones.

• Explore and apply AI-based tools and digital workflows to support design visualization, coordination efficiency, and documentation quality.
