Job Description

The Facilities Manager is a crucial position responsible for overseeing the daily operations and maintenance of a company's physical facilities. The role involves ensuring that buildings and their services meet the needs of the people that work in them. Facilities Managers are accountable for services such as cleaning, security, and parking, to ensure the surrounding environment is in a suitable condition to work. Additionally, they manage services that include waste disposal and recycling. This role requires a blend of practical know-how and leadership skills. The Facilities Manager ensures that existing facilities are maintained and optimized for efficiency and productivity while adhering to budget constraints and health and safety regulations.


Responsibilities
  • Oversee the maintenance and operations of building systems and staff needs.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental obligations at all times.
  • Develop and manage the budget for facility maintenance and operations.
  • Coordinate building space allocation and layout design with the management team.
  • Manage external contractors for specialized repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Implement best practices to increase efficiency in building operations.
  • Respond promptly to facility-related incidents and emergencies, providing solutions.
  • Monitor the facility s performance with the help of metrics and regular reporting.
  • Oversee the security and emergency preparedness procedures to protect assets.
  • Collaborate with other managers and executives on strategic facility projects.
  • Ensure proper disposal and recycling of waste generated by the facility.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules and protocols.

Requirements
  • Bachelor s degree in facility management, business administration, or related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in facilities management or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, maintenance, and related procedures.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills, with a strategic mindset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and facility management software systems.
  • Ability to respond to facility emergencies and solve problems efficiently.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for staff management.
