Purpose of the job:
The FAST Consortium Commercial & Legal Director is a member of the FAST Consortium (FCC, Samsung, Strukton, Fressynet and Alstom) management team. FAST Consortium is responsible to execute the lines 3,4 and 5 of the Riyadh Metro Project for the client ADA. Appointed by Alstom, the FAST Consortium Commercial & Legal Director will work for the FAST Consortium in respect of commercial and legal matters concerning the Riyadh Metro lines 3, 4 and 5 project. The FAST Consortium Commercial & Legal Director is responsible to develop and propose to FAST Management a legal and commercial strategy for the project, to protect on a daily basis and with a long term strategy FAST and Alstom interests towards the customer. The FAST Consortium Commercial & Legal Director shall seek to have implemented project specific commercial procedures, particularly regarding correspondences, notifications, insurances, and variation requests / orders and claims preparation files; ensures that the projects implement tools for the reliable filing and easy access of the correspondence from, and to, the customer/partners in the project; shall provide support to the FAST management teams in identifying any potential risks that may impact the project; shall animate the legal and CM communities working on the project, in conjunction with FAST s Contract Manager (appointed by FCC).
Main responsibilities :
• Coordinate the FAST s legal and commercial activities, in strict conjunction with other FAST s departments and with prompt and adequate report to Alstom management
• Anticipate events and risks, propose various counter-strategies and solutions to keep the situation under control.
• Reporting on legal matters, change requests and claims status and strategies to FAST Management.
Educational Requirements:
• Degree in law; or
• Degree in Engineering or Finance with knowledge in contractual and legal related matters.
Mandatory experiences:
• Must have a minimum of 15 years experience working in commercial and/or contractual and/or legal matters, better if in the frame of large infrastructural projects.
• Experience in industrial sectors, preferably in the railway business, in oil & gas or other construction-related fields.
• Local (MEA Region) customer experience desirable.
Languages: Excellent communication and presentation skills in English. Fluency in second language (e.g., French) a plus.
