Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities


  • Install, pull/blow fibre cables in ducts, trays, risers; micro-duct rodding and jetting.
  • Fusion splicing (SM/MM) using Fujikura/INNO (or similar) splicers; pigtail splicing and dress-up.
  • Termination on ODFs, patch panels, closures, wall boxes (SC/LC/ST).
  • Testing & troubleshooting with OTDR (EXFO/VIAVI/JDSU), light source/power meter, VFL; interpret traces and generate reports.
  • Execute GPON/FTTx patching (OLT/ONT), SFP handling, continuity checks.
  • Install, seal, and re-enter joint closures; underground and riser maintenance.
  • Read/update fibre schematics, splice plans, and route drawings; prepare as-built documentation.
  • Complete daily site reports, checklists, permits; follow QHSE procedures.
  • Coordinate with supervisors/contractors for access, shutdowns, and inspections; ensure workmanship quality and timelines.

Desired Candidate Profile

Availability to join immediately (within 0–7 days). Applications without immediate availability will not be considered.

  • 2+ years hands-on fibre experience (OSP/ISP/FTTx); UAE experience preferred.
  • Strong fusion splicing & OTDR testing skills; able to interpret and rectify losses.
  • Good knowledge of closures, ODFs, patch panels, connectors, and fibre accessories.
  • Basic computer skills for test reports (Excel/PDF) and email updates.
  • Physically fit for outdoor/site work; willing to travel within UAE.
  • Preferred: UAE manual driving licence; FOA/BICSI/vendor trainings; familiarity with Etisalat/du/utility standards and permits.
  • Language: English required; Hindi/Urdu/Arabic an advantage.
  • Visa: Visit/cancelled/resident with NOC acceptable; must be eligible to work in UAE.
