General Finance ExpertHourly Contract | Remote | Part-Time$80 $110 per hourAbout the RoleA leading AI research lab, in collaboration with Mercor, is seeking experienced Finance professionals to contribute to the design and evaluation of next-generation AI systems.As a General Finance Expert, you will help train, test, and calibrate AI models to perform complex real-world finance workflows from budgeting and forecasting to cash flow modeling, FP&A, and strategic planning. Your expertise will directly support the development of intelligent, finance-aware AI systems capable of assisting professionals in real business contexts.Key ResponsibilitiesEvaluate AI-generated financial outputs for quality, accuracy, and alignment with strategic goals.Review and refine budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis models for correctness and depth.Simulate and audit corporate finance workflows, including financial reporting and scenario planning.Provide domain-specific feedback to enhance AI decision-making and financial reasoning.Collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers and product teams to ensure consistent performance and accuracy.Ideal Qualifications2+ years of professional experience in Finance, FP&A, Strategic Finance, Corporate Finance, or Treasury.Bachelor s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration (MBA or certifications like CMA/CPA are a plus).Strong command of financial modeling, variance analysis, cash flow forecasting, and performance metrics.Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and communication skills.Ability to translate complex data into concise, actionable insights.Familiarity with financial software, modeling tools, or advanced Excel is a plus.Project TimelineStart Date: ImmediateDuration: 1 2 monthsCommitment: Part-time (~20 hours/week, with flexibility up to 40 hours/week)Schedule: Fully remote and asynchronous work on your own time.Compensation & ContractHourly Rate: $80 $110 USD/hour (based on experience and qualifications)Top Performer Bonus: Weekly incentives ranging from $20 $100/hr for high-quality contributionsType: Independent ContractorPayments: Processed daily via Stripe ConnectApplication & Onboarding ProcessUpload your resume and complete the brief application form.AI Interview: A short, 15-minute conversational session to discuss your background and domain expertise.Work Trial: A paid, 3-hour task-based assessment evaluating your ability to interpret project guidelines and deliver finance-specific insights.
