Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Financial Oversight: Manage all financial functions, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, reporting, and financial analysis specific to the marine business.
  • Leadership: Supervise and develop the finance team, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in day-to-day operations.
  • Strategic Planning: Conduct monthly variance and performance analysis to guide senior management in decision-making.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the development of annual and monthly budgets, including operational and cash flow forecasts for marine operations.
  • Risk Mitigation: Identify and assess financial and operational risks, recommending solutions to safeguard assets and optimize performance.
  • Compliance & Controls: Implement robust financial controls, policies, and procedures aligned with industry best practices.
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with auditors, banks, and regulatory bodies to ensure financial compliance and maintain strong external relationships.
  • Tax & Regulatory Compliance: Ensure VAT and other regulatory requirements are met, working with consultants to continuously improve processes.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a related field.
  • Professional qualification such as CPA, ACCA, CA, or CMA.
  • 10-15 years of relevant finance experience, with a strong preference for candidates with marine or shipping industry exposure.
  • Proficient in MS Office, ERP systems like SAP or Oracle; experience with marine industry platforms is a plus.
  • Fluent in English; Arabic proficiency is a plus.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, operational environment.
