Job Description

The Finance Officer is a key member of the finance department tasked with spearheading the diligent management of the organization's financial operations. This role involves a combination of strategic oversight, financial analysis, and budgetary control to ensure the organization s fiscal activities align with its strategic goals. The Finance Officer will work closely with other departments to devise effective financial strategies and support strategic planning initiatives. You will act as a steward of the organization s resources, optimizing financial processes and upholding regulations and compliance measures. Your expertise will be instrumental in laying a financial blueprint that supports the sustainable growth and financial health of the organization.


Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the preparation of the organization s budget and financial forecasting.
  • Conduct financial analysis, providing actionable insights to improve performance.
  • Monitor and report on key financial performance indicators and variances.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and guidelines to uphold integrity.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to support strategic initiatives and planning.
  • Manage the preparation and dissemination of financial statements and reports.
  • Oversee cash flow management activities to ensure adequate liquidity and funding.
  • Collaborate with department heads to advise on financial management practices.
  • Implement and improve financial controls to safeguard the organization's assets.
  • Lead audits and financial assessments to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements across finance processes.
  • Train and mentor junior finance staff to develop their finance and accounting skills.

Requirements
  • Bachelor s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline is required.
  • Proven track record with a minimum of 5 years in a finance officer role.
  • Strong knowledge of financial and accounting principles and regulations.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to handle complex financial data.
  • Proficiency with financial software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills needed.
  • Strong communication skills to present financial information effectively.
  • High level of integrity and professional ethics in finance-related decision-making.
