Job Description

The Specialist – Financial Reporting plays a critical role in the consolidation and analysis of financial data across the healthcare organization. This role ensures consistent financial reporting practices aligned with IFRS and UAE regulatory frameworks. The specialist collaborates with internal stakeholders to develop and implement technical accounting policies, improve reporting processes, and ensure audit readiness.

Responsibilities

The post holder will:

  • Lead the end-to-end Group year-end audit process.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between external auditors and internal teams.
  • Coordinate with various departments to ensure timely provision of audit requirements.
  • Monitor and track the status of open audit items and drive their timely resolution
  • Prepare audit status reports for management and highlight key issues.
  • Prepare and analyze consolidated financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures.
  • Perform variance analysis and investigate discrepancies in financial reports.
  • Support the standardization and automation of reporting processes.
  • Contribute to training sessions for finance staff on accounting standards and policies.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and assist in driving standardization.
  • Ensure proper documentation and control over financial reporting processes.

Experience in healthcare, hospitals, or large service-based industries in the UAE is highly preferred.

Desired Candidate Profile

Qualifications

Education and Certification

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or Economics is required.
  • Professional certification such as CPA, CMA, ACCA, or CFA is preferred.
  • Master’s degree (e.g., MBA or M. Com) is preferred.
  • Knowledge and Skills
  • Strong command of IFRS and local UAE financial regulations (including VAT).
  • Proficiency in ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, or Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and financial reporting tools.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills to interact with senior management.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Specialist - Financial reporting benefit from having experience/competency in:
  • Internal control framework
  • Regulatory compliance (UAE VAT/IFRS)
  • ERP implementation and process optimization
  • Internal and external audit coordination
  • Regulatory compliancesExperience
  • Minimum 5+ years of progressive experience in finance roles.
