Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair fire protection pipe systems according to specifications.
- Interpret and understand blueprints and design specifications for fire systems.
- Ensure compliance with local and national fire safety codes and regulations.
- Conduct regular inspections and testing of installed fire suppression systems.
- Repair or replace faulty components of fire safety systems promptly.
- Collaborate with safety engineers and relevant personnel on fire safety installations.
- Document maintenance activities and repairs for system compliance records.
- Train junior technicians in proper procedures and installation techniques.
- Maintain a safe work environment by following all health and safety guidelines.
- Keep accurate inventory of tools and materials required for projects.
- Respond urgently to any emergencies or system failures to mitigate risks.
- Advise on improvements to enhance system reliability and efficiency.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a fire fighting technician or pipe fitter, with relevant certifications.
- Strong understanding of fire protection systems, mechanics, and troubleshooting.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings accurately.
- Familiarity with local and national fire safety codes and regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Good physical condition and ability to work in various environments.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team.
