We are looking for Fire Protection Inspector for Jeddah, Saudi Arabia

Position Summary:
Conduct inspections of fixed fire protection and detection systems, portable fire appliances, building inspections and other activities assigned related to fire and life safety and maintain all associated records. Possess knowledge of the characteristics and behavior of fire and fire prevention principles. Develop written correspondences to communicate fire protection and fire and life safety code requirements and provide accurate interpretation of applicable codes and standards.

Scope of Work:


•Conduct scheduled periodic inspections of fire alarm systems, fire sprinkler systems, fire pumps, clean agent fire extinguishing systems, wet chemical extinguishing systems, emergency lighting etc.
•Conduct building safety inspections including but not limited to; portable fire extinguishers, electrical hazards, chemical hazards, fire exit signs, fire exit doors, fire separations, egress components and other life safety and fire hazards
•Conduct field inspections of new and existing structures and identify types of construction and building classification, occupancy type and fire protection features.
•Calculate occupancy load and identify occupancy factors related to various occupancy classifications.
•Evaluate emergency plans, evacuation strategies given with existing or proposed plans, procedures and applicable codes and standards to ensure that compliance is achieved
•The ability to read and interpret all plans related to fire and life safety systems.
•Attend and witness annual testing of fire protection systems during the Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) program carried out by service providers
•Participate in pre-commissioning and commissioning of all fire protection systems/equipment
•Conduct audits of planned preventive maintenance (PPM) programs of fixed fire protection systems and fire & life safety appliances carried out by other service providers.
•Download and print work orders (periodic inspection & audits) from SAP system, complete the inspections and audits and upload the work orders into the SAP system.
•Maintain current knowledge of the Clinet, its structures, and all systems and equipment related to life safety and fire protection.
•Follow the personal protective equipment (PPE) procedure applicable during the site visits, mechanical completion certificate (MCC) walkthrough, plant visits etc.
•Update inspections and audit checklists related to fixed fire protection systems, fire appliances and equipment relevant to fire & life safety
•Maintain records of all the related inspections, audits, PPM, reviews, submittals etc.
•Maintain records of life safety plans, commissioning documents and As-built drawings of all fire protection system/equipment installed and operational
•Attend periodic fire loss prevention coordination meetings or other meetings as directed
•Assist in preparing weekly reports, monthly reports and annual reports of all fire protection systems/equipment as applicable
•Maintain updated knowledge of role relevant codes and standards and Client policies and procedures required for the inspection and maintenance of all fire protection systems and equipment.
•Coordinate with and provide support to client in relation to life safety and fire protection as required.
•Maintain non-compliance registers based on periodic inspections, audit reports or random monitoring of fire protection systems and appliances.
•Generate and close out exception item list (EIL)/snag lists following walkthrough`s, pre and final commissioning activities
•Log work request orders with applicable departments/service providers in order to report areas of non-compliance to ensure full compliance of life safety and fire protection systems and equipment are met.
•Review As-built drawings, records of completion (commissioning documents) of life safety and fire protection systems of new projects.
•Carry out any tasks assigned by the fire loss prevention manager or lead fire protection specialist related to life safety and fire protection.

Desired Candidate Profile

•Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Science or equivalent from a recognized university.
•Minimum High School diploma or equivalent and Fire Inspector-I and Fire Inspector- II certification. OR
•Minimum High School diploma or equivalent and total five (5) years of experience as a fire inspector / technician.

•Minimum (3) years of experience as a fire Inspector/Technician in a comparable role.

•Training/ certification of fire alarm system or fire sprinkler system or fire stop system
•Be physically able to climb/descend stairs, vertical ladders and enter restricted working spaces such as ceiling voids, basements, ducts, chases and plant rooms

•Functions/ activities assigned by Manager / HSE Director for fire prevention
