Job Purpose –

The main focus of the Fleet Sales Manager is to manage and lead a team of Fleet Sales Consultants to achieve predetermined targets with a strong focus on marketing the department to grow sales to new and potential clients/organizations. All duties are to be carried out in accordance with all company policies and procedures and any additional specific requirements as per company values & vision.

Key Accountability-

• Maintain regular and timely interaction with prospects and customers to establish long-term, successful account relationships.
• Identify opportunities to meet customer needs by selling additional products and services to existing customers
• Execute effective closing strategies to bring the sales process to fruition.
• Ability to effectively manage all areas of the sales department, including but not limited to wholesale, retail, purchasing and marketing.
• Ability to forecast goals and objectives for vehicle sales, gross and key expenses on a monthly and annual basis
• Ability to handle and resolve customer issues or concerns promptly and professionally.
• Adhere to dealership policies at all times.
• Excellent communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with customers; subordinates and management team.
• Regular reporting of actual sales performance against set targets with variance and revised projections
• Monitoring the sales revenue, margin, and expense performance initiating corrective action where required
• Monitoring competitors sales & product strategies, campaigns and events to optimize market share
• Partnering with HR with recruiting, selecting and training of Fleet Sales Consultants
• Providing motivational support, fostering teamwork and empowering others
• Account management excellence to increase sales to existing clients/organizations
• Management of fleet department P&L to maximize financial return to dealership through effective gross maximization and expense control
• Forming long term business partnerships with guests in order to leverage future transactions
• Identifying and exceeding needs of clients by providing in-depth advice and service
• To successfully achieve Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
• Preserve and grow current client portfolio
• Assist customer with vehicle selection; promote model options, features, value-add products & services, purchase/finance options following dealership policy
• Be available to respond to email inquiries frequently and respond to inquiries immediately in a professional, well-spoken manner
• Deliver world class customer satisfaction
• To implement Sales Processes that supports Customer Satisfaction Sales Standards.
• To provide a customer record and follow-up system, resolve customer complaints and build loyal clientele for the dealership.



Skills, Knowledge and Experience required:

• Bachelor’s degree (Business, marketing, economics or finance)
• Extensive experience minimum 5 years in a sales role with a proven sales record preferably within the automotive industry
• Strong understanding of all aspects of a fleet operation
• Highly developed knowledge of the automotive industry
• Excellent and effective communication and interpersonal skills , incorporating written and oral communication, influencing and negotiation skills
• Ability to build effective relationships with clients
• Leadership skills
• Ability to build strong profitable relationships with key external accounts
• Decision making skills
• Good analytical and coordinating abilities
• Ability to work as part of a team
• To ensure profitability of the Fleet Sales through the sale of vehicles, financing, dealer options, after-sales and accessories.
• To manage departmental expenses effectively
• To coordinate with GM & HR department for recruiting, hiring, orientation, staffing levels and pay plans (including incentives and benefits)
• To establish and maintain practices designed to train, develop and motivate department employees in co-ordination with Manager – Training & Development.
• To utilize job descriptions, including performance criteria to communicate expectations, monitor and measure individual employee effectiveness.
• To provide constructive feedback to employees on an ongoing basis as needed and during the formal appraisal process
