Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Test Program Planning:
- Collaborate with engineering teams to develop comprehensive flight test plans for eVTOLs, defining specific test objectives, parameters, and success criteria.
- Coordinate all aspects of flight test activities for eVTOL aircraft, including pre-flight briefings, ground testing, and in-flight data collection.
- Oversee the installation and operation of advanced data acquisition systems on eVTOLs to collect critical data during flight tests.
- Provide specialized support to eVTOL flight crews, including briefing them on unique eVTOL test objectives, monitoring in-flight activities, and conducting post-flight debriefs.
- Post-Flight Data Analysis:
- Participate in the data collected during eVTOL flight tests, collaborating with data analysts and engineers to draw meaningful conclusions.
- Prepare detailed test reports specific to eVTOL flight testing, summarizing activities, results, and any observed anomalies or issues.
- Collaborate with engineers to integrate and calibrate specialized instrumentation and sensors for eVTOL-specific data collection.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation of eVTOL flight test activities, including unique considerations for vertical flight.
- Safety Compliance:
- Ensure strict adherence to safety regulations and protocols throughout the eVTOL flight test program.
- Collaborate with safety officers and regulatory authorities to obtain necessary approvals specific to eVTOL operations.
- Focus on the specific challenges of vertical flight during testing, including takeoff, hover, transition to horizontal flight, and vertical landing.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor s degree in aerospace engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience in flight test operations, with a focus on eVTOL or vertical flight systems.
- In-depth knowledge of eVTOL systems, aerodynamics, and unique challenges associated with vertical flight.
- Familiarity with advanced eVTOL propulsion systems, avionics, and instrumentation.
- Experience with specialized data acquisition systems and sensors used in eVTOL flight testing.
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on safety and accuracy, considering the unique aspects of eVTOL operations.
- Familiarity with eVTOL-specific regulations and certification processes.
Desired Candidate Profile
