Preferred candidate profile:
Preferable previous experiences in the Food & Beverage Department within a hotel. You must deal in a polite and sophisticated manner and have a Good understanding of customer service and good command of English both spoken and written.
Scope and General Purpose of Job:
To handle table reservations, control of the flow of guests and any guest and supervise the assigned station / section, serve Food & Beverage to guests in a courteous, professional, efficient and flexible manner consistent with established performance and productivity standards in any of the Food & Beverage Outlets (Restaurants, Bars, Room - Service, Banquets, Entertainment Center, Pool Restaurant) in order to maximize guest satisfaction. To be flexible and extend job duties and responsibilities, which do not distinctly differ in nature from the original assigned work, including re-assignment to alternative departments and areas if required, to meet business demand and guest service needs.
Main Duties:
Operational:
1. To provide a courteous, professional, efficient and flexible service at all times, following Roda Standards of Performance.
2. To have a full working knowledge and capability to supervise, correct and demonstrate all duties and tasks in the assigned Place of Work to the standard set.
3. To be entirely flexible and adapt to rotate within the different sub departments of the Food & Beverage Division or any other Department of the hotel as assigned.
4. To perform all duties and tasks when rotated or assigned to another Department as per Master Task List for that Department.
5. To be fully conversant with all services and facilities offered by the hotel.
6. To perform opening and closing procedures established for the Place of Work as assigned.
7. To have a thorough understanding and knowledge of all food and beverage items in the menu and the ability to recommend Food & Beverage combinations and up sell alternatives.
8. To ensure that the Place of Work and surrounding area is kept clean and organized at all times.
9. To handle guest enquiries either by telephone or in person in a courteous and efficient manner and report guest complaints or problems to supervisors if no immediate solution can be found and assure follow up with guests.
10. To make table reservations and thereby effectively control and maximize the flow of guests.
General:
1. To understand and strictly adhere to the Rules & Regulations established in the Employees Handbook and the Hotel s policy on Fire, Hygiene, Health and Safety.
2. To report for duty punctually wearing the correct, clean uniform and nametag at all times.
3. To maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene at all times.
4. To maintain a good rapport and working relationship with staff in the outlet and all other departments.
5. To attend and contribute to all staff meetings Departmental and Hotel training as scheduled and other related activities.
6. To fully support the Departmental Trainers function in the Department assigned.
7. To undertake any reasonable tasks and secondary duties as assigned by the Assistant Manager and Team Leader.
8. To respond to any changes in the restaurants function as dictated by the hotel.
9. To project at all times a positive and motivated attitude and exercise self-control.
10. To have a complete understanding of the Income Audit Section in the Operations Manual and Policies & Procedures.
