At the moment we're looking for Food & Beverage Manager to join our friendly and professional team at InterContinental Fujairah Resort. As Food & Beverage Manager , you will be managing food and beverage operations to ensure quality service and standards while delivering a guest experience that is unique. Ensure compliance with all governmental regulations concerning health, safety, or other requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities
FINANCIAL RETURNS
- Prepare and manage a business plan/ budget with measurable targets for department within the financial parameters set down by the hotel budget
- Effectively monitor and analyze variations from the budget
- Develop systems that measure the cost effectiveness of the department
- Develop procedures that track, report on, and control the running costs of the department
- Contribute to the overall strategic plan of the business and help compile the annual hotel business plan
- Keep abreast of trends in your area and implement best practice initiatives
OUR PEOPLE
- Develop a competitive business/ operations and marketing plan for your operational area and communicate this to your team
- Work within the company s Human Resource Management System to ensure the departmental performance of staff is productive
- Plan for staffing needs
- Recruit in line with company guidelines
- Prepare detailed orientation programmes for new colleagues
- Maintain a comprehensive, current and guest focused set of departmental standards and procedures and oversee their implementation
- Ensure training needs analysis of your departmental staff is carried out and training programmes are designed and implemented to meet needs
- Deliver training
- Actively work at developing your direct reports and identify high potentials
- Maintain training records for all direct reports and ensure they do the same for their direct reports
- Conduct probation and formal performance appraisal in line with company guidelines
- Coach, counsel and discipline staff, providing constructive feedback to enhance performance
- Approve leave requests after considering peaks and troughs in the business
- Regularly communicate with colleagues to maintain positive relationships
GUEST EXPERIENCE
- Demonstrate service attributes in accordance with industry expectations and company standards including:

Accurately and promptly fulfilling Guests requests
Anticipate Guests needs
Maintain a high level of knowledge which affects the Guest experience
Demonstrating a service attitude
Taking appropriate action to resolve guest complaints
- Appreciate the dynamic nature of the Hotel industry and extend these service attributes to all internal customers
- Review and update existing standards to ensure competitiveness.
- Ensure that team provides services that are above and beyond guest satisfaction and retention.
- Review findings from comment cards and guest satisfaction results with F& B team to identify areas of improvement and ensures appropriate corrective action is taken.
- Share plans to take corrective action based on comment cards and guest satisfaction results with property leadership.
- Empower colleagues to provide excellent guest service.
RESPONSIBLE BUSINESS
- Familiarizes yourself with Company Health and Safety Policies and ensure your areas promote and comply with them
- Take responsibility to rectify hazardous situations, reporting major areas of concern to your General Manager or designate
- Familiarizes yourself with property safety, first aid and fire and emergency procedures and actively enforce these in your area of responsibility
- Ensure security incidents in your operational area are reviewed and corrective measures implemented to prevent recurring incidents
- Develop quality management systems. With Purchasing Manager, develop and monitor the implementation of purchasing procedures
ACCOUNTABILITY
This is the top food and beverage job in a full-service resort. Supervises a large number of team members in food and beverage outlets, kitchens, banquet facilities that cater to 500 people or less. Provide a professional, advisory and executive support service to the General Manager to assist in meeting strategic goals.

Bachelor s degree / higher education qualification / equivalent in Hotel Management, Culinary Arts, or any other related field
Minimum two years experience as a Food & Beverage Leader in a five star hotel. Experience in a resort is desirable.
