• Support the FSL&NUT PM in designing the macro Program Cycle Management tools, including: monitoring, indicators, means of verification, Activity Progress Reports, Budget follow up tools, Project Procurement Plans
• Prepare a workplan for each project, in coordination with the project team and make sure that the program activities are implemented in respect to the workplan
• Lead project monitoring activities, being sure they are implemented according to the project work-plans
• Provide guidance to the project teams in weekly planning of activities (input distribution, trainings, set up, maintenance, monitoring, reporting, etc.)
• Prepare required project materials together with the teams, such as IEC, training modules, workshops, etc.
• Support FSL& NUT PM to produce a Program Dashboard by e.g. providing data on beneficiaries, implementation levels, project maps
• Support the FSL&Nut Program Manager in design of the beneficiary selection criteria and process
• Supervise the field teams in the beneficiary selection process daily
• Contribute to project and beneficiaries data collection and reporting
• Provide verbal and written reports to FSL&NUT PM on the progress of the project towards objectives and activities in the workplan and any additional activities; be involved in the final project reporting: monthly APRs intermediate and final reports
• Actively support Action Against Hunger s implementing partners in conducting their food security and nutrition activities in the area, where appropriate
• Under the supervision of the FSL&NUT PM in engage regularly with program stakeholders
Objective 2: To support the development and implementation of AAH s food security and nutrition strategies in the Bekaa, based on sound analysis (15%)
• Collect and evaluate information on food security, nutrition and the living conditions of the populations; carry out quantitative and qualitative needs and capacity assessments as required.
• Support the analysis of needs, capacities and appropriate response options to assist the most vulnerable local population at base level in line with Action Against Hunger country strategy, in coordination with the FSL & Nut PM
• Actively coordinate with other agencies implementing food security & nutrition projects in the Bekaa, in coordination with FSL & Nut PM
• Contribute to the drafting of FS and Nut reports to donors and new proposals for FSL & Nut interventions in the Bekaa, coordinating the field staff inputs based on sound field assessments.
• Represent Action Against Hunger in regional working group meetings in line with Action Against Hunger Lebanon Strategy and under the supervision of FSL & NUT PM
• Represent Action Against Hunger in food security, livelihoods & nutrition meetings with national / international NGOs, national institutions and international organizations under the guidance of FSL&NUT PM
Objective 3: To manage and develop the capacity of the AAH FSL and Nut team (25%)
• Support the assessment of needs and strengths of each team member directly reporting and identify capacity-building priorities for each as part of AAH s normal performance development process.
• Contribute to identifying and developing relevant trainings in coordination with the FSL & Nut PM
• Participate in staff training, helping to build technical capacity of staff, operators and partners in the area of Food Security and Nutrition
• Supervise, mentor and coach colleagues and team members, building the technical and operational capacity to obtain high quality results and impact
• Ensure the good respect of working condition while in office and in the field, especially the respect of Action Against Hunger Code of conduct and
• Ensure the standard operation procedures for the area of operation and safety rules on the construction sites are being followed
Objective 4: Finance & Administration (15%)
• Organize day- to-day logistic, administration and staff-related activities
• Manage all related program equipment and materials in close consultation with the logistic / procurement officer. Maintain and ensure proper project asset register
• Contribute to the supervision and control of expenses related with the activities of the project (Procurement planning)
• Ensure the application of the Log Kit forums and procedures pertaining to the supply chain, procurement, transport / movement
• Supervise specific project (s) budget forecast & follow up
• Participate in the design of new budget
• Actively participate in budget follow up meetings with the FSL PM
• Ensure timely procurement of goods and services for the program and accurate, regularly updated, budget follow-up and forecast, in close coordination with the Logistics and Admin department
• Provide distribution plans, procurement requests to the FSL&NUT PM based on agreed project work-plan
• Ensure proper archiving of technical supporting documents
• Prepare weekly activities and transportation needs
Objective 5: Security
• Respect the security rules specified in the mission and base security plan, see to it that the team under his/her responsibility complies with the security plan and perform the security management tasks that can be assigned in its protocols
• Communicate to the security managers of the working location any security related information or noncompliance with the security plan
Objective 6: Support humanitarian activities of Action Against Hunger
• Support the emergency interventions of the organization as per the employee s abilities
• Support any activity that helps reaching our humanitarian goals, as per the employee s abilities
• Promote gender equality within the humanitarian and/or development work
Do you meet the profile required criteria?
Training/ Education:
• Bachelor s degree in nutrition, food science/ food security, public health, economics, social work, humanitarian action or related field
Technical specific knowledge:
• Nutrition, food sciences, food security, hygiene, behavior change promotion
• Good understanding of the country context, good context analysis skills
Previous experience:
• At least 2 years of experience working in program management position in humanitarian and/or development organizations
• At least 1 year of working in food security and/or nutrition programs
• Demonstrable experience building staff capacity and coaching
Humanitarian sector knowledge:
• Good knowledge of INGOs and donor agencies, procedures, guidelines and interventions in the country
• Action Against the Hunger knowledge:
• An asset
• Native Arabic compulsory, Excellent level of English
