Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Operate forklifts and reach trucks to safely and efficiently move materials, products, and equipment within the warehouse or worksite.
  • Load and unload goods from trucks and other vehicles, ensuring proper stacking and securing to prevent damage and maintain load stability.
  • Conduct pre-shift inspections of equipment, including checking fluid levels, tires, and safety devices, and report any issues immediately to maintain operational readiness.
  • Transport materials to designated areas, such as storage locations or production lines, following established procedures and safety protocols.
  • Pick and fulfill orders accurately, retrieving items from storage and preparing them for shipment, paying close attention to order details.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy by documenting all movements of materials, including receiving, storing, and shipping, using inventory management systems.
  • Adhere strictly to safety regulations and company policies, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following traffic patterns.
  • Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment, reporting any mechanical issues or malfunctions to the maintenance department promptly.
  • Collaborate with other warehouse staff, such as supervisors, loaders, and order pickers, to coordinate activities and optimize workflow.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including sweeping, removing debris, and ensuring that aisles are clear to ensure safety and efficiency.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • High school diploma or equivalent educational qualification is preferred to demonstrate a basic level of literacy and numeracy.
  • Valid forklift and reach truck operator certification, indicating formal training and proficiency in operating the equipment safely and effectively.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience operating forklifts and reach trucks in a warehouse or similar environment, showing practical skills.
  • Proven experience in the logistics or warehousing industry, showcasing familiarity with industry-specific processes and procedures.
  • No specific nationality preference, as the role values skills and experience over national origin.
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols and the ability to adhere to them consistently to prevent accidents and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and physical stamina, with the ability to lift and maneuver heavy objects, to perform tasks efficiently.
  • Demonstrated reliability and a strong work ethic, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines.
