Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Safely operate forklifts to transport, load, and unload materials, ensuring adherence to safety protocols at all times.
- Conduct regular inspections of the forklift to identify any mechanical issues, reporting problems to maintenance for timely repairs.
- Participate in safety meetings and training sessions to remain updated on best practices and company policies.
- Monitor load capacities and ensure proper weight distribution to prevent accidents or damage to goods.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring that aisles and work areas are free of hazards.
- Utilize handheld devices or warehouse management systems to assist with inventory counts and location tracking.
- Prepare and complete necessary shipping and receiving documentation, ensuring compliance with company standards and regulations.
- Assist in training new operators on safe and effective forklift operation and warehouse protocols.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff to organize and maintain an efficient layout for optimal workflow and accessibility.
- Accurately track inventory levels during loading and unloading processes, updating systems to reflect real-time stock statuses.
Desired Candidate Profile
- High school diploma or equivalent is required; vocational training in logistics or warehouse operations is a plus.
- Valid forklift operator certification, demonstrating proficiency and adherence to safety regulations.
- Previous experience working in a warehouse or distribution center, ideally with a focus on material handling.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience operating forklifts in a fast-paced environment, showcasing reliability and skill.
- Strong technical skills related to forklift operation and basic maintenance, ensuring operational efficiency.
- Physical ability to lift heavy items and operate machinery for extended periods, maintaining stamina and focus.
