Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to transport goods within the warehouse, ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols.
  • Conduct regular inspections of forklifts before and after use to identify any mechanical issues, ensuring all equipment is in optimal working condition.
  • Load and unload materials from delivery trucks, carefully balancing loads to prevent accidents and damage to goods.
  • Accurately record inventory movements, utilizing warehouse management systems to track stock levels and locations.
  • Collaborate with warehouse teams to organize and maintain a clean, efficient workspace that maximizes productivity.
  • Follow all company policies regarding safety, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Assist in training new forklift operators on best practices and safety standards to promote a culture of safety within the team.
  • Perform cycle counts and inventory checks as needed, ensuring timely updates to inventory records to reflect accurate stock levels.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and other team members regarding daily tasks and any potential hazards in the work environment.
  • Adapt to changing workload demands by efficiently prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively, ensuring timely completion of all duties.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • High school diploma or equivalent, with a strong understanding of basic math and reading skills to follow instructions accurately.
  • Valid forklift operator certification, ensuring compliance with local regulations and safety standards.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or distribution center, demonstrating familiarity with various types of forklifts.
