Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Measure, cut, and sew upholstery fabric to create custom covers for sofas and furniture, ensuring accurate fit and clean finishing Perform upholstery stitching for sofa and cushion covers using industrial sewing machines Apply upholstery techniques such as padding application, foam fixing, and basic frame preparation to ensure comfort and durability Install fabric onto furniture frames using staples, tacks, and adhesives, achieving a smooth, wrinkle-free finish Inspect finished work to maintain quality standards and consistency Identify and repair upholstery issues such as loose seams, fabric defects, or padding problems
Desired Candidate Profile
High school diploma or equivalent Vocational training, apprenticeship, or hands-on experience in furniture upholstery Experience in fabric sofa upholstery and stitching Minimum 1–3 years of practical experience in a furniture workshop or factory environment Ability to work accurately, follow instructions, and meet production standards Willingness to learn, improve skills, and work long term
