Job Description

Apply medical knowledge and skills for diagnosis, prevention and treatment of illnesses, diseases, and infections in patients at Internal Medicine.

Responsibilities

1. Conduct preventive or promotive healthcare services for any patients coming in.
2. Should follow standard protocols as per privileges of General Practitioner defined by DOH.
3. May keep patients for observations for short period only
4. Call or inform Specialists/Consultants accordingly for further take over, if need be.
5. Follow protocols regarding prescribing medicines/lab tests and Radiology.
6. While treating the patients, should refer patients to Specialists as and when the need identified.
7. Work in all areas of hospital (wards/ICU/ER etc) depending on experience and deployment by HOD.
8. Should work in external clinics if deployed.
9. Should accompany for home visits if deployed.
10. Should provide support for patient transfer (in and out), if deployed.
11. Should be willing to travel out of UAE for patient transfer, if need be.
12. Participate in healthcare related activities such as medical camps, outdoor check-ups & social/CSR activities.
13. May administer preventive Vaccinations as and when required.
14. DOH reporting as per statutory /regulatory guidelines.
15. Provide general care to patients in hospital ward s and in outpatient clinics.
16. Examine and talk to patients to diagnose their medical conditions.
17. Make notes, both as a record of treatment and for referral.
18. Liaise with other medical and non-medical staff in the hospital to ensure quality treatment.
19. Work with other doctors as part of a team.
20. Promote health education among patients.
21. Maintain knowledge of applicable local regulations and requirements.
22. Maintaining professional quality standards to meet those of the JCI, DOH.
