Basic Functions:
Under the guidance and supervision of the Rooms Division Manager and within the limits of established The RAY Hotel & Studios policies and procedures, directs and control Housekeeping and Laundry operations, from coordinating activities and implementing standards.
Duties & Responsibilities:
o Have a thorough knowledge of the hotel policies and procedures
o Abide to hotel rules and regulations on grooming and appearance
o Have a thorough knowledge of Hotel services, products and special promotions
o Attends daily briefing with the Executive Housekeeping & Laundry Manager and team members
o Establish and/or implement operating procedures and standards
o Plan and coordinate the activities of housekeeping supervisors and their crew
o Coordinate inspection or inspect assigned areas to ensure standards are met
o Apply human resource management skills, such as hiring, training, scheduling and evaluating performance
o Handle administrative tasks
o Manage the day-to-day activities of the housekeeping department;
o Plan, schedule, and organize work to ensure proper coverage.
o Communicate and enforce policies and procedures.
o Ensure all staff is properly trained and have the tools and equipment needed to effectively carry out their respective job duties.
o Develop and implement procedures for managing quality of housekeeping and laundry services.
o Control expenses within all areas of housekeeping.
o Participate in the preparation of the annual departmental operating budget and financial plans which support the overall objectives of the hotel.
o Conduct pre-shift meeting and review all information pertinent to the day's activities.
o Establish par levels for supplies and equipment.
o Replenish shortages and other business supplies for daily business.
o Assist with deep cleaning projects and/or assist housekeeping staff during unanticipated rush periods and may serve as "manager on duty" as required.
o High School Diploma or equivalent
o 4 years housekeeping/laundry experience, preferably in a hotel of similar size and complexity,
o One or more years of supervisory experience.
o Possess basic financial skills
o Must speak fluent English, with ability to speak other languages is preferred.
o Knowledgeable about the PMS system in use
o Have the ability to work under pressure
o Possess leadership and managerial skills
o Possess planning, organization and communication skills
