Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement company-wide subcontracting strategies in line with corporate and project objectives.
  • Lead the preparation, negotiation, and finalization of high-value subcontract agreements.
  • Establish subcontracting policies, procedures, and governance frameworks to ensure compliance with contractual and legal requirements.
  • Oversee subcontractor prequalification, evaluation, and selection to build a strong vendor base.
  • Monitor subcontractor performance, claims, variations, and disputes to ensure alignment with project KPIs.
  • Provide commercial and contractual guidance to project teams on subcontracting issues.
  • Drive value engineering, cost optimization, and risk mitigation across subcontract packages.
  • Liaise with senior stakeholders, consultants, and clients for contractual and commercial negotiations.
  • Manage a team of subcontract managers and engineers, ensuring skills development and performance excellence.
  • Prepare executive-level reports on subcontracting activities for leadership and board review.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related discipline. A master’s degree or MBA is an advantage.
  • Minimum 15–20 years of experience in subcontract management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within general contracting, infrastructure, or EPC projects.
  • Extensive knowledge of FIDIC contracts, commercial law, and subcontracting best practices.
  • Proven track record in managing complex, high-value subcontract agreements.
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (Oracle, or equivalent).
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to drive change and improve processes.
