Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Safely operate heavy vehicles, ensuring compliance with all traffic laws and regulations while maintaining a clean driving record.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to identify and report any mechanical issues, ensuring the vehicle is roadworthy.
- Plan and execute efficient routes to optimize delivery schedules and minimize fuel consumption, adapting to unforeseen obstacles or detours.
- Load and unload cargo securely, using appropriate equipment and techniques to prevent damage and ensure safety during transport.
Desired Candidate Profile
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in heavy vehicle operation are a plus.
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with endorsements for heavy vehicles and a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience operating heavy trucks in commercial settings, preferably in logistics or construction.
- Familiarity with geographic areas and routes to ensure timely and efficient deliveries; local knowledge is preferred.
