Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
License no 4 is required – with tailor truck driving exp
Vehicle Operation and Transportation
- Safe Driving: Operate heavy vehicles (as assigned) in a safe and responsible manner at all times, strictly adhering to UAE traffic regulations, company policies, and RTA guidelines.
- Logistics & Delivery: Transport construction materials (e.g., aggregates, sand, cement, rebar, asphalt), heavy machinery, and equipment between the company's yard, suppliers, and various construction sites.
- Route Planning: Plan and adjust routes based on traffic, road conditions, and site accessibility to ensure timely and scheduled deliveries.
- Loading & Unloading: Oversee and assist with the safe loading and unloading of cargo, ensuring materials are properly secured, balanced, and comply with weight and dimension limits.
- Documentation: Accurately complete all necessary paperwork, including delivery notes, trip sheets, logbooks, timesheets, and fuel consumption records.
Safety and Compliance
- Vehicle Inspection (Pre-Trip/Post-Trip): Conduct mandatory daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle (e.g., tires, brakes, lights, fluid levels, cargo securement) and report any defects, maintenance needs, or mechanical failures immediately.
- Site Safety: Follow all on-site safety protocols, including wearing required PPE, operating vehicles within designated speed limits, and ensuring clear communication with site safety officers and flagmen.
- Reporting: Promptly report all accidents, incidents, traffic violations, and mechanical breakdowns to the Transport Manager.
Vehicle Maintenance and General Support
- Cleanliness: Maintain the cleanliness of the assigned vehicle's cabin and exterior.
- Minor Maintenance: Perform basic maintenance tasks (e.g., checking oil, water, tire pressure) and refuel the vehicle as required.
- Teamwork: Coordinate closely with the logistics team, dispatchers, site supervisors, and warehouse personnel to ensure smooth operations.
Desired Candidate Profile
- License: Must possess a valid UAE Heavy Vehicle Driving License (Category 4 and/or 5).
- Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of professional heavy vehicle driving experience, preferably within the construction, infrastructure, or logistics sectors in the UAE/GCC.
- Knowledge: Excellent knowledge of UAE roads, routes, and traffic laws, especially within Dubai and surrounding Emirates.
- Clean Record: A clean and verifiable driving record (must have a minimal number of traffic fines/black points).
- Language: Basic ability to read, write, and communicate in English (or a relevant common language like Hindi/Urdu) for documentation and following instructions.
- Physical Fitness: Must be physically fit and capable of working long hours, lifting heavy items, and working in varied weather conditions typical of the UAE.
- Immediate Availability: Preferred candidates available for immediate joining.
