Brief Summary
The Manager Quality will play a critical role in ensuring the highest standards of quality control and assurance across operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in jewellery quality testing, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to drive continuous improvement. This role involves managing overall jewellery quality processes, including coloured jewellery quality control at store level. The position reports directly to the Head of Quality and requires close collaboration with the Quality Control Team and vendors.
Brief Job Description (just an indicative list and not limited to the following)
- Conduct surprise visits to sites alongside the Quality Control Team to perform random checks and ensure alignment with the quality control module.
- Prepare quarterly quality control reports with findings, observations, and recommendations, and share them with vendors to promote transparency.
- Analyze trends in quality control rejections, identify recurring issues, and provide actionable insights to vendors.
- Collaborate with the Head of Quality to develop and implement vendor scorecards and performance reports.
- Assist in establishing and maintaining a robust quality management system including SOPs and guidelines.
- Conduct regular audits of vendor processes and QC procedures to ensure compliance.
- Train and educate the QC Team and vendors on QA practices and product specifications.
- Drive quality initiatives, identify process bottlenecks, and implement solutions to enhance product quality and customer satisfaction.
- Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in jewellery QA practices.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Production, Design, and Procurement teams to resolve quality-related issues.
- Manage coloured jewellery quality control at store level, ensuring consistency and adherence to defined standards.
Skill Required
- 8 years of experience in jewellery quality testing (diamonds, colored diamonds, precious stones etc.)
- Strong knowledge of jewellery manufacturing processes, materials, and QC techniques.
- Experience in conducting audits, preparing reports, and analyzing quality data.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for internal and external collaboration.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy in assessments.
- Proficiency in quality control tools and software.
- Gems Certificate is mandatory, candidates must hold a valid certification in gemology or equivalent.
