1. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Job Summary
Under the general direction of the Executive Housekeeper or his/her Delegate, and within the limits of established IHG and local Hotel policies and procedures,
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Monitors the job of all Housekeeping colleagues to ensure that all rooms, especially those known repeat guests and other VIP's receive proper attention.
Follows-up with supervisors on the day-to-day operation, in order to make sure that work is being done properly and as per the standards.
Works closely with the Laundry department, Engineering department and the Front Office and maintains open channels of communication.
Assists the Executive Housekeeper in personnel matters such as interviewing, evaluating and counseling colleagues as well as in appraisals.
Assists the Housekeeping Departmental Trainer in identifying training needs and developing and implementing training sessions.
Schedules routine inspections with supervisors of all Housekeeping areas. Inspects guest and public areas on a regular basis to ensure that all furnishings, facilities, and equipment are clean and in good repair.
Maintains appropriate standards of dress, hygiene, uniforms, appearance, posture, and conduct of all Housekeeping colleagues.
Assists in the monitoring and control of departmental costs.
Supervises outside contracts to ensure contractual compliance. Monitors and controls Housekeeping tasks such as: lost and found, key control, security emergency and environmental procedures, that help maintain the health and security of colleagues and guests.
Attends staff briefings every day (AM or PM shifts), and makes sure that the communication is being properly handled by supervisors and disseminated across the department.
Makes sure that all arrivals rooms are being released on time by supervisors and occupied rooms are being cleaned on time as per standards.
Checks the arrival of the day and controls that each guest receives the appropriate attention and that the special requests are being handled properly.
Controls and authorizes store requisitions in order to remain within the limits of the monthly expenses.
Prepares the monthly productivity report to be submitted to the Executive Housekeeper.
Enforces guest satisfaction through personalized service and guest recognition.
Must be willing to help with deep cleaning projects or assist during unexpected rushes. Demonstrates understanding and awareness of all policies and procedures relating to Health, Hygiene and Fire Life Safety.
Performs related duties and other projects as assigned.
2. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Diploma in Hotel Management or Bachelor's Degree Business Administration or a related field
