Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Train, mentor, and evaluate housekeeping staff, fostering a culture of excellence and teamwork.
  • Oversee daily housekeeping operations, ensuring all rooms and public areas are cleaned to the highest standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms and facilities, promptly addressing any cleanliness or maintenance issues.
  • Develop and implement housekeeping procedures and checklists to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
  • Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels while minimizing waste.
  • Coordinate with other departments, such as front desk and maintenance, to enhance the overall guest experience.
  • Handle guest inquiries and complaints related to housekeeping, ensuring timely resolution and satisfaction.
  • Maintain health and safety standards by ensuring all cleaning practices comply with regulations and hotel policies.
  • Prepare reports on housekeeping activities, including staffing, expenses, and room status for management review.
  • Assist in budget preparation and cost control measures to optimize housekeeping department performance.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in hospitality management is preferred for enhanced operational knowledge.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a housekeeping role, with at least 1 year in a supervisory position.
  • Certification in housekeeping management or related field is a strong plus, showcasing commitment to professional growth.
  • Experience in the hospitality industry, particularly in hotels or resorts, demonstrating understanding of guest service standards.
  • Culturally aware and able to work in a diverse environment, with a preference for candidates familiar with international hospitality standards.
  • Fluency in English is required; proficiency in additional languages is a significant advantage for guest interaction.
  • Strong technical skills in cleaning equipment and products, with the ability to train staff on their proper use.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, enabling effective management of multiple tasks and prioritizing urgent needs.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to foster team collaboration and maintain positive guest relations at all times.
  • Physically fit to perform manual tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods during shifts.
