HSE Engineer

Job Location : Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates

Requirements :

Bachelors degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
Minimum of 8 years of proven experience as an HSE Engineer, with strong exposure to oil & gas and civil construction projects.
Holder of 3rd Party Certified Accident/Incident Investigation Certificate.
Professional certifications preferred: NEBOSH IGC, CSP, OSHA, or equivalent.
Strong knowledge of UAE labor laws, ADNOC codes of practice, and international HSE standards (ISO 14001, ISO 45001, OHSAS 18001) mandatory
Demonstrated expertise in conducting HSE training, risk assessments and root cause analysis.
Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.
Fluent in English (written and spoken); Arabic is an advantage.
Willingness to travel to project sites as required.

Key Responsibilities :

Develop, implement, and monitor HSE policies, procedures, and guidelines in line with UAE laws and international standards.
Conduct regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and audits across oil & gas and construction projects.
Provide HSE training, inductions, and awareness programs for staff, contractors, and project teams.
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses in compliance with regulatory requirements; prepare reports and recommend preventive measures.
Maintain and update accurate HSE documentation, logs, and reports for management and regulatory authorities.
Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure safety compliance on all worksites.
Liaise with government authorities and third-party auditors on safety and compliance matters.
Conduct emergency preparedness drills and develop site-specific emergency response plans.
Keep up-to-date with the latest industry standards, oil & gas HSE regulations, and best practices.
Promote and embed a proactive culture of safety, accountability, and compliance within the organization.
