Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential hazards in the workplace, ensuring proactive mitigation strategies are implemented.
- Develop and implement comprehensive safety policies and procedures tailored to specific project needs and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor compliance with HSE regulations through regular site inspections and audits, providing actionable feedback to improve practices.
- Lead incident investigations to determine root causes, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Design and deliver HSE training programs aimed at enhancing employee awareness and promoting a culture of safety across the organization.
- Collaborate closely with project managers and engineers to integrate HSE considerations into all phases of project planning and execution.
- Maintain accurate records of HSE activities, incidents, and compliance metrics, utilizing data analysis to drive continuous improvement.
- Stay updated on industry standards and regulatory changes, ensuring the organization adapts to new requirements effectively.
- Facilitate emergency preparedness drills and safety meetings, empowering employees with the knowledge to respond effectively in crisis situations.
- Act as a liaison between management and regulatory bodies, ensuring clear communication and compliance with HSE mandates.
Desired Candidate Profile
- A bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Safety Engineering, or a related field is essential for foundational knowledge.
- Work with a DMT (Department of Municipalities and Transport) experienced expert.
- Professional certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent are highly sought after to validate expertise in health and safety.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in HSE roles, preferably within the oil and gas, construction, or manufacturing industries, is required.
- Experience with risk assessment methodologies and safety management systems is crucial to effectively manage workplace hazards.
- Candidates with international work experience are preferred, showcasing adaptability to diverse regulatory environments.
- Fluency in English is mandatory; additional languages such as Arabic or Spanish are advantageous for global communication.
- Strong analytical skills are needed to interpret data and make informed decisions that impact safety performance.
- Excellent communication skills are essential for effectively conveying safety information to diverse audiences.
- A proactive mindset and problem-solving ability are vital in addressing safety challenges creatively and efficiently.
- Physical stamina and resilience are necessary, as the role may involve site visits and inspections in varying environmental conditions.
