Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
The HSE Officer is responsible for implementing and overseeing Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards across the joinery factory and fit-out project sites. The role ensures that all activities are carried out in accordance with internal safety policies and relevant regulatory requirements. This includes monitoring daily operations, conducting inspections, delivering safety training, facilitating incident investigations, and promoting a proactive safety culture to prevent workplace accidents and health hazards.
Responsibilities:
- Implement, monitor, and enforce HSE policies, procedures, and regulatory compliance at both factory and site locations.
- Conduct routine safety inspections, risk assessments, and workplace audits to identify hazards and ensure corrective and preventive actions are taken.
- Ensure proper workplace housekeeping, machine guarding, safe handling of tools/materials, and control of hazardous substances within the factory environment.
- Oversee and ensure the proper use, availability, and condition of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for all employees and subcontractors.
- Deliver safety inductions, toolbox talks, and ongoing HSE training sessions to enhance awareness and safe working practices.
- Monitor site and factory activities to verify adherence to method statements, safety plans, and approved work procedures.
- Respond to incidents and near-misses by facilitating investigations, preparing incident reports, and recommending preventive measures.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date HSE documentation, inspection records, compliance logs, and monthly HSE performance reports.
- Coordinate with project teams, site supervisors, and factory managers to actively promote a safe working environment.
Desired Candidate Profile
Minimum 4 years of experience in HSE within the fit-out/Joinery industry in a factory set-up.
Qualification:
- A diploma or a College Degree in a relevant field.
Certifications:
- NEBOSH Certificate (Mandatory).
- Additional HSE training certifications (if any).
- IMS and auditing experience is an added advantages.
Other Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of HSE regulations and risk management.
- Ability to conduct safety inspections and enforce compliance.
- Good communication and reporting skills.
