Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential hazards and recommend preventive measures tailored to the specific work environment.
- Develop and implement robust HSE policies and procedures that align with local regulations and industry best practices, ensuring compliance at all levels.
- Lead safety training sessions, workshops, and drills to promote a culture of safety and ensure that all employees are well-versed in emergency protocols.
- Perform regular site inspections and audits to monitor compliance with HSE standards, promptly addressing any deficiencies found.
- Investigate incidents and near-misses, compiling detailed reports and analysis to prevent future occurrences and improve safety protocols.
- Collaborate with management to integrate HSE considerations into operations, ensuring that safety remains a priority in decision-making processes.
- Maintain accurate records of HSE training, incidents, and inspections, using data to generate insightful reports and recommendations for improvement.
- Stay updated on changes to HSE regulations and industry trends, proactively adapting policies and practices to maintain compliance and enhance safety.
- Engage employees in safety initiatives, fostering open communication and encouraging suggestions for improving workplace safety.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for HSE-related inquiries, providing expert guidance and support to all levels of the organization.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field, providing a solid foundation in HSE principles.
- At least 3-5 years of hands-on experience in HSE roles within the relevant industry, demonstrating a strong practical understanding of safety protocols.
- NEBOSH or IOSH certification, showcasing recognized expertise in health and safety management practices.
- Proven ability to conduct thorough risk assessments and implement effective control measures tailored to specific operational contexts.
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal, with additional language skills considered an asset for diverse work environments.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret data and generate actionable insights for continuous improvement in safety performance.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with employees at all levels and foster a safety-oriented culture.
- Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving, ensuring that safety issues are identified and addressed promptly.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment, showing flexibility in adapting to changing safety needs.
- Physical fitness and willingness to conduct fieldwork, including site inspections and safety audits in various conditions.
