Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Role Purpose To ensure that all health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures are implemented and adhered to across all project sites. The HSE Officer is responsible for promoting a safe work environment, preventing accidents, ensuring legal compliance with UAE regulations, and supporting continuous improvement in HSE performance across MEP projects. Key Accountabilities Implement and monitor HSE policies, procedures, and standards in compliance with UAE laws and company requirements. Conduct daily site inspections to ensure that safety rules and best practices are followed by all employees and subcontractors. Identify potential hazards, unsafe acts, and unsafe conditions, and take immediate corrective and preventive actions. Organize and conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and HSE training sessions for site personnel. Prepare and maintain HSE documentation, including risk assessments, method statements, incident reports, and safety statistics. Investigate and report accidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions, and ensure corrective measures are implemented. Coordinate with project and site teams to promote a strong safety culture and environmental awareness. Ensure proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and compliance with site safety signage and procedures. Assist in emergency preparedness and response planning, including conducting mock drills. Liaise with local authorities and consultants to ensure compliance with HSE requirements and obtain necessary approvals. Support the HSE Manager in implementing ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems. Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills Diploma or Bachelor s Degree in Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, or related field. Minimum 3 5 years of experience as an HSE Officer in MEP or construction projects within the UAE or GCC. Certified in NEBOSH IGC, IOSH, or equivalent HSE qualifications (mandatory). Strong knowledge of UAE HSE regulations, codes of practice, and authority requirements (e.g., DM, ADNOC, DCD). Experience in preparing and maintaining HSE documentation and incident investigation reports. Excellent observation, communication, and reporting skills.
