Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Ensure implementation and compliance of project-specific HSE plans, procedures, and client safety requirements across all data centre construction activities.
Conduct daily site safety inspections and identify unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, and potential hazards.
Monitor electrical, HVAC, ELV, lifting, and mechanical installation activities for safe execution practices.
Ensure compliance with local regulations, authority requirements, and international safety standards applicable to data centre projects.
Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and awareness sessions for workers, staff, and subcontractors.
Review and approve Permit to Work (PTW) systems including hot work, work at height, confined space, and electrical isolation permits.
Monitor proper usage of PPE and enforce corrective actions for non-compliance.
Coordinate emergency response procedures, evacuation drills, and first aid preparedness on site.
Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and unsafe occurrences and prepare detailed reports with corrective actions.
Maintain HSE documentation including inspection records, incident logs, training records, and compliance reports.
Ensure scaffolding, ladders, lifting tools, power tools, and equipment are inspected and certified before use.
Monitor housekeeping standards to ensure clean and obstruction-free working areas.
Participate in risk assessments, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and Method Statement reviews prior to execution activities.
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors to ensure safe work planning and execution.
Conduct regular audits on subcontractor safety performance and compliance with project HSE standards.
Ensure safe material handling, storage, and waste disposal practices across the project site.
Monitor work at height activities including proper scaffolding, lifeline systems, and fall protection measures.
Ensure lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures are implemented during testing, commissioning, and electrical works.
Support client HSE inspections, audits, and safety meetings with timely reporting and closure of observations.
Promote a proactive safety culture by encouraging hazard reporting, behavioral safety practices, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Desired Candidate Profile
Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field.
Minimum 5–8 years of HSE experience in construction projects, preferably in data centres or mission-critical facilities.
Strong knowledge of HSE regulations, risk assessment procedures, and safe work practices.
Experience in managing safety requirements for electrical, HVAC, ELV, and mechanical installation activities.
Familiarity with Permit to Work (PTW), LOTO, confined space, hot work, and work at height procedures.
NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, or equivalent HSE certification preferred.
Good understanding of UAE/local authority HSE regulations and international safety standards.
Strong communication, reporting, and coordination skills with ability to conduct trainings and toolbox talks.
Ability to identify hazards proactively and implement corrective and preventive actions effectively.
Proficient in MS Office, HSE reporting systems, and preparation of safety documentation and audit reports.
