Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • The role involves training and qualifying contract personnel to ensure compliance with plant safety procedures.
  • It requires scheduling and planning safety training for contract employees, following up on training requirements and certifications, and conducting safety courses covering work permits, confined space entry, and lockout/tag out/try procedures.
  • The position demands adherence to standard safety rules and regulations, providing consulting services when required, and following the company’s reporting system for incidents and accidents.
  • Responsibilities include conducting safety introductions for new employees in accordance with company safety rules and procedures, carrying out task risk analyses before maintenance jobs, and monitoring the effective daily use of personal protective equipment (PPE) by the workforce.
  • Continuous monitoring and reporting of near misses, conducting frequent toolbox meetings, and active participation in company safety and training programs are also essential aspects of the role.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Proficiency in English communication, including speaking, reading, and writing, with the ability to clearly express complex ideas, instructions, and procedures.
  • Must be a high school graduate and have completed a three‑year technical school program. Possession of at least one recognized safety credential or certification is required.
  • A minimum of five years’ experience as a Safety Officer or Safety Coordinator in a petrochemical plant.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to understand, implement, and comply with plant safety standards and procedures, as well as familiarity with petrochemical plant safety hazards and risk mitigation practices.
