Roles & Responsibilities

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Use 3D CAD modeling software to create opto-mechanical components and assemblies.
  • Design, develop, analyze, document, and test opto-mechanical components and assemblies, with the support of senior engineers.
  • Learn how to conduct analysis (tolerance, thermal, structural, optical, etc.) using appropriate tools for the job.
  • Leverage engineering tools such as CAD and FEA software to design components and systems with the support of senior engineers.
  • Perform basic design calculations to understand how loads and environmental factors affect performance of mechanical components.
  • Participate in design reviews to learn and understand the existing systems, and be actively participating in the engineering and development.
  • Learn how to design for manufacturability in order to produce components that are manufacturable.
  • Learn to generate data packs, artifacts, and files to support manufacturing with the support of senior engineers.
