Nalco Champion, an Ecolab Company, is seeking an Industry Technical Consultant . If you are a passionate sales professional with a proven track record of success in technical sales, we invite you to apply. You will be primarily responsible for revenue and profit growth of Nalco Champion programs and services in targeted accounts within the Oil and Gas industries. You will be required to take a consultative sales approach, with a primary emphasis on strong account leadership skills and retention of strategic Nalco Champion accounts. In addition, you must build long-term relationships with a large customer base by understanding their key business drivers, executing system assurance programs, and selling new technologies.

What You Will Do:
• Ensures a safe work environment, promotes a safety culture and actively works to achieve goal zero. Promptly reports every incident, near miss, or injury to leader as soon as feasibly possible
• Responsible for Identifying opportunities for training and develops curriculum accordingly
• Assists leadership in development of training modules or internal training events with the ability to educate and train salesforce and customer.
• Work with Sales team, District Managers, Regional Sales Managers, his/her associates and industry marketers and customers to support the implementation of industry/marketing plan
• Responsible for development of best practices for certain products and programs within an industry segment
• Comply with all internal and customer safety processes on and off customer location. Proactively display and promote safety leadership and best practices
• Support commercialization and deployment efforts and field trials. Will often write call-reports detailing activities of site visit
• Provide technical support and interface as an expert on company technology and understanding customer processes
• Work with the field organization to identify and capture the impact of company programs/applications/systems in clear financial terms
• Work with field organization to identify needs, problems, determine effective solutions and help document specifications
• Identify account opportunities and coordinate with Key Account Managers and Sales Mgmt
• Responsible for supporting customer jeopardy situations
• Provide onsite audit support for pre-bid technical qualification including laboratory testing, qualification and process flow documentation
• Identify and provide basic input on industry-unique needs for sales tools, technical materials, sales collateral, media and other promotional materials and campaigns
• Review technical recommendations and compare to industry norms and best practices including chemistry applicability, dosage levels and application methodology
• Understands and utilizes best practices in daily activities and participates in technical audits for both present and prospective customers
• Designs technical audit templates as needed
• Assists in development and execution of field trials
• Provide technical analysis of test trial work
• Participating in planning committees, chairing sessions and contributing or presenting key papers
• Develop launch protocol of new products/applications/systems
• Support case studies as directed including data collection or development around new or existing applications
• Provides input to develop for new technology candidates as well as supports new technology deployment through presentations at technical centers, industry conferences, and technical publications
• Work with Key Industry Marketers and Research to take advantage of new technical developments through new products/applications/systems
• Monitors the group s processes and results to examine quality and efficiency issues that become targets for improvement
• Coach the work group to evaluate and improve the quality of its work
• Assists in the removal of obstacles that negatively affect quality
• Establishes measures to track quality
• Assist team on the most critical areas/processes that need to be improved
• Create cost and benefit analysis on projects prior to action
Position Details:
• Office located in: Dubai, U.A.E.
• Region: Eastern Hemisphere (i.e. EMEA, Russia/Caspian, Asia-Pacific)
• Work week and shift: Typically M-F/On-Call in General-Only Questions but infrequent after-hours contact
• Travel 30% 40%, overnight travel expected
Minimum Qualifications:
• BA/BS in a science or technical specialty
• 10 15 years minimum industry experience
Preferred Qualifications:
• Effective time management, ability to multi-task
• Application experience in water, refining, petrochemical and oilfield chemicals
• Experience within multiple sites
• Industry recognition of technical expertise
• Prior industry or technical experience with sales experience preferred. Experienced in production, process and customer operations. Strong technical inclination
• Should have good knowledge of well services industry. Viewed as a Regional or Global Expert internally and Regional Expert externally
• Advanced communication/interpersonal skills. Makes advanced recommendations/more sales focused communications
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate and transfer technical knowledge to others regardless of audience s level, need, style and culture. Proactively keeps people up to date on issues that affect them
• Communicates clearly with customers, especially about expectations. Seeks customer input on decisions impacting quality or service
• Advanced problem-solving skills. Coaches others on how to analyze information to solve problems
• Models a systematic approach to problem solving
• Helps others to solve their own problems rather than providing them with answers. Involves others in solving problems that affect them
• Anticipates and stays on top of problems
• Equipment used at location
• Nalco Champion safety best practices, policies, procedures, etc.
• Complete familiarity with the entire Nalco Champion product/ application/ systems line and customer equipment and vessels
