Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Review and audit inpatient and day case coding for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.

  • Verify the correct application of ICD-10-AM, CPT, and DRG codes based on medical documentation.
  • Identify and correct coding errors or mismatches prior to billing and claim submission.
  • Analyze clinical documentation to ensure coding reflects the full complexity of care provided.
  • Prepare and present audit reports, including findings, trends, and recommendations.
  • Provide feedback and guidance to coders for performance improvement.
  • Collaborate with the Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) and Revenue Cycle teams to enhance data integrity.
  • Support internal and external audits, ensuring timely response and compliance.
  • Monitor denial trends related to coding and contribute to root cause analysis and correction.
  • Ensure all coding activities adhere to UAE health authority standards (DOH) and payer guidelines.

Desired Candidate Profile

Bachelor s degree in Health Information Management, Medical Records, or a related healthcare field.

  • 3 5 years of experience in inpatient and day case coding and auditing within a hospital setting in the UAE.
  • Strong understanding of UAE healthcare billing and payer requirements.
  • Valid CPC, CCS, or equivalent coding certification (mandatory).
  • DOH/DHA/MOH license or eligibility preferred.
  • Proficient in ICD-10-AM, CPT, and DRG coding systems.
  • Experience using EMR systems (Cerner, Medisys, Oracle, etc.) and e-claim platforms.
  • Excellent command of MS Office, especially Excel and reporting tools.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and analytical thinking.
  • Strong communication and reporting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficient in English; Arabic is an advantage.
