Roles & Responsibilities

Job Description

WSP Middle East is seeking a highly skilled Instrumentation and Control Inspector, who will be responsible for ensuring the quality and compliance of I&C systems (including instrumentation & control, metering and monitoring system, telecommunication system, cyber security system, fire detection system, security system) in large-scale infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

  • Review I&C drawings, materials, calculations, method statements, and testing and commissioning procedures.
  • Inspect I&C site works and materials at the site. Manage and oversee I&C activities and interfacing from inception to completion.
  • Ensuring compliance with contract requirements, design specifications, applicable codes and regulatory requirements to ascertain quality and safety.
  • Be well versed with the applicable codes, local regulations and industry standards to discharge duties.
  • Collaborate with project managers, site staff, engineers, and contractors to develop project plans and schedules.
  • Prepare project progress reports, documentation, and as-built drawings for client review and approval.
  • Review of site related documentations like method statements, installation drawings, site testing procedures etc.
  • Review of decommissioning study, feasibility study and associated risk assessment.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of I&C installations to ensure compliance with project drawings, specifications, and industry standards.
  • Perform testing and commissioning of I&C systems, including but not limited to, loop checks, function tests, and system performance verification.
  • Document and report any non-conformances or defects and follow up on corrective actions.
  • Raising the NCR (Non-Compliance Report) as and when any non-compliance found by EPC/contractors. Also, guide the EPC/contractors to resolve the issues to meet the project requirements/codes and standards.
  • Closely monitor, guide and regulate the interfacing issues between contractors and providing heads up to avoid re-work.
  • Investigate and report any safety incidents or near misses.
  • Attend testing and commissioning activities.


Documentation and Reporting:

  • Review operating and maintenance manuals.
  • Provide accurate and timely reports for the RE-Utilities and Senior Resident Engineer.


Site Meetings and Collaboration:

  • Attend site meetings and workshops.
  • Support the project team, collaborating towards the positive development of the project.
  • Ensure no adverse comments from the client side.
  • Deliver the scope of services identified under the RFP.


Qualifications

  • 10 years of infrastructure supervision in well-known international firms.
  • Local experience in large-scale infrastructure projects in GCC.
  • Relevant Degree in the I&C/electrical Engineering field.
