Roles & Responsibilities

Job Summary:

The Instrumentation Supervisor will oversee the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of all instrumentation systems within the plant or project. The role involves leading a team of technicians, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards, and coordinating with project teams to ensure timely execution of instrumentation activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise installation, calibration, and maintenance of instrumentation equipment such as sensors, transmitters, controllers, and analyzers.
  • Lead a team of instrumentation technicians, providing guidance, training, and performance management.
  • Ensure instrumentation work complies with project specifications, safety, and quality standards.
  • Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, and control system teams for seamless integration of instrumentation systems.
  • Review and interpret P&IDs, instrument datasheets, loop drawings, and schematics for installation and commissioning.
  • Monitor and report instrumentation progress, issues, and resource requirements to senior management.
  • Participate in pre-commissioning and commissioning activities, including functional testing and loop checking.
  • Implement and maintain preventive maintenance programs for instrumentation systems.
  • Ensure compliance with EHS guidelines and operational safety procedures.
  • Assist in procurement, inspection, and verification of instrumentation materials and equipment.

Desired Candidate Profile

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of field instruments, control systems (DCS/PLC/SCADA), and calibration procedures.
  • Leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, and technical documents.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting instrumentation and control issues.
  • Good communication and coordination skills with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and best practices (ISA, IEC, NEC).
