Reporting Relationships
Position line reports to the Maintenance Manager
Position line reporting to it Maintenance Technicians
1. Abilities, Duties, and Responsibilities
• Manage and Lead an electrical sub-contract maintenance team
• Responsible Person for all electrical Maintenance aspects of Electrical Equipment
including, but not limited to:
a. Overhead power line
b. Electrical substations and switchgear at Haliba CGF and ASAB CDS
c. Transformers and power distribution systems
d. Electrical Technical Rooms (ETRs) at well pads
e. ESP power supply to wells and associated Variable Speed Drives
f. Emergency Diesel Generator set
g. Electric motors to multiphase pumps
h. Electric motors to
i. Water injection pumps
ii. Drains pumps
iii. Chemical injection and drum unloading pumps
iv. Diesel transfer pumps
v. Potable water pumps
i. Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) System
j. Overall Electrical System, including (but not limited to) street lighting,
earthing, low resistance, lightning protection, floodlight mast, other relevant
facilities and devices
k. Cathodic protection system
l. Instrument & Utilities air Package
m. Nitrogen Generation Package
n. Chemical Injection Packages
o. Diesel Supply & Storage Package
p. Potable Water System
q. Waste Water Treatment Package
• Ensure Electrical maintenance schedules are executed to plan
• Author the Electrical section in the weekly and monthly reports
• Work with the CMMS Planning Engineer to ensure maintenance routines are
accurate and justified. Appraise and update preventative maintenance routines in
CMMS as applicable
• Capability to perform Level 1 and 2 Breakdown Maintenance and troubleshooting
• Input to 90 day and 28 day planned works
• Participate in technical and HSE audits, inspections as prescribed by Manager
• Review critical Electrical spares holdings
• Fully conversant with the technical documentation available from EPC Contractor
and OEMs pertaining to electrical equipment
• Ensure all electrical technical documentation required for maintenance is available
or is resourced through OEMs or vendors
• Review MOCs for technical accuracy and delivery and execute as directed
• Provide direction on the priority of work
• Provide clarity on electrical issues for root cause analysis studies
• Troubleshoot and attend emergency/ Breakdown maintenance.
• Participate in various workshops such as RCM/ FMEA/ E- HAZOP etc.
• Provide the answer to technical queries related to electrical equipment
• Guide and coach Sub-contract personnel on electrical maintenance
• Conversant with Contract KPIs and support their delivery and attainment at all
• Ensure good knowledge of the contract
• Participate in, or cooperate with; internal or external audits respectively
• Attend the weekly management meeting
• Compile or receive detailed written Handover prior to; and completion of the leave
and/or field breaks
• Have full awareness of the Company Code of Conduct and Business Ethics.
• Compile/distribute comprehensive reports as necessary
• Strong HSE awareness in the following areas:-
a. Risk recognition/risk awareness
b. Permits to Work, Toolbox Talks & Checklists
c. Awareness of H2S and N2 hazards
d. Correct use of PPE
e. Electrical system isolations
f. Simultaneous Operations hazards
g. Dropped objects & trip hazard mitigation
h. Working at height
• Report HSE incidents and all near misses
• Working knowledge of engineering design, standards, and codes

2. Working Relationships
Essential to maintain a good working relationship with:
• Maintenance Manager
• Site Team Leader
• Client Managers
• Major In-Country Sub-contract Managers, Vendors, and Suppliers
• External OEM’s and Vendors
3. Qualifications, Experience & Attributes
• 15+ years’ experience in Oil and Gas Operations and maintenance on a major
• Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering
• Proven leadership ability
• Experience in overhead line power supply maintenance
• Can create systems to track and improve maintenance operations
• Good knowledge of CMMS, preferably with SAP-PM exposure
• Excellent HSE appreciation and awareness
• Willingness to work and foster good working relationships in an integrated team
from diverse locations
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Excellent written and oral English is essential, supported by good report writing
• Working knowledge of Arabic advantageous
