Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
• Assist in gathering pre-planning data and developing the Audit Plan Memorandum (APM).
• Conduct audits in line with approved schedules.
• Perform the full audit cycle to ensure operational effectiveness, financial reliability, and compliance with internal controls and procedures.
• Obtain, analyze, and evaluate documentation, previous reports, data, and flowcharts as part of the audit process.
• Document processes, prepare audit findings reports, and provide input for the audit action plan.
• Conduct follow-up audits to monitor business unit interventions and ensure changes are implemented as recommended.
• Make recommendations on systems and procedures, report on findings, and review the completion of corrective actions.
• Act as an objective and independent source of assurance to ensure validity and legality of processes and controls.
• Advise on systemic improvements to tighten controls and enhance governance.
• Conduct ad hoc investigations and reviews as requested by Internal Audit management.
Continuously improve knowledge of developments and best practices in internal auditing.
• Support Internal Audit Management in developing and executing the Audit Plan Memorandum (APM).
• Coordinate with business units and other stakeholders to ensure timely completion of audits and effective communication during the audit process.
• Ensure audit assignments meet internal audit quality standards and timelines.
• Review audit evidence and documentation for accuracy and completeness.
• Provide advisory input and recommendations to management for process improvements and control enhancements.
Act as a liaison between Internal Audit and Business Units to address audit-related matters and facilitate resolution of issues.
• Mentor and guide junior auditors during audit fieldwork and documentation to promote learning and consistency.
Contribute to the continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the audit department.
• Set performance goals in discussion with the reporting manager and ensure their achievement during the year.
• Strive to achieve high levels of proficiency in all required competencies and skills.
• Identify training and development needs to support ongoing capability development.
• Contribute to identifying and implementing improvements in systems, processes, and practices to enhance efficiency, cost reduction, and productivity.
• Follow all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions to ensure work is carried out in a consistent and controlled manner.
Prepare and submit departmental reports accurately and on time in accordance with company requirements, policies, and procedures.
Desired Candidate Profile
Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in an Internal Audit function across Financial, Operational and Management Auditing
Minimum Bachelor Degree and/or Master Degree in relevant field
Professional certification in one of the following preferred:
CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants)
ACA (Association of Chartered Accountants)
ACCA (Certified Chartered Accountant)
CIPFA (Public Finance Accountant)
IIA (Institute of Internal Auditors)
CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor)
