Principal Accountabilities:

• Develop, communicate and deliver the product and assortment strategy and operational plans aligned with our vision, that meet or exceed annual financial and brand goals;
• Develop and achieve annual goals; conduct weekly meetings with continuous feedback and developmental coaching;
• Create a collaborative, positive environment within the Merchant and Product Development teams and with key partners including Marketing, Creative, Purchasing and Customer Service.

• Leading the product teams to continue to profitably grow our business while elevating our profile for unique, remarkable and exclusive products;

• Leveraging your managerial experience in buying, purchasing, and product development;

• Setting our merchandising vision; influencing and inspiring our team across the entire organization;
• Leading end to end responsibility for new category/product development and new category/product launches- Categories would include mix of new brand work, new category work-and existing brands new category work;
• Responsible for driving strategy, planning, top line, budget management & bottom line for above;
• Driving market research, consumer insights and business analytics o Lead the Market Research function;
• Work with brand teams to design & implement in store marketing elements for different categories;
• Lead team on enhancing consumer insights process;
• Lead on improving business & brand analytics;
• Past P&L responsibility of $10 million+.

Desired Candidate Profile

Education & Experience:

• Graduate with an MBA degree in Retail Management or Supply Chain;
• Overall experience should be around 8 to 12 years in the Merchandising role;;
• Should have around 3 to 5 years of experience as Category Manager – FMCG Food and Non Food in a Hypermarket environment;
• GCC experience is a must.
Specialized Skills/Requirements
• Should have excellent skills in MS office, especially in Excel
• Language Skills – English, Hindi and Arabic (good to have, not mandatory)
• Strong numerical, analytical, negotiation skills.
