• Act as a commercial focus for all pre and post contract works and support the Estimation Team by developing commercial strategy and preparing commercial inputs to the new proposal. Ensure integration of legal, human resources, insurance and finance considerations into proposals and contracts
• Review, negotiate and approve commercial terms contained in proposals, tenders, project contracts and joint ventures with ISSCO’s business partners
• Assist projects in contractual negotiations for procurement of major supply items and subcontractors. Prepare schedule of all projects procurement activities in coordination with project managers and expedite and monitor procurement activities
• Understand and manage the change control process on project and ensure that any contractual changes that result from change requests are drafted and approved by the client
• Oversee all contracts and ensure that all legal documents are correctly maintained and updated. Ensure that any business ISCCO enters into is legally compliant and bears the minimum acceptable exposure to risk and maximized potential profitability
• Provide Project Managers with a Project Commercial Execution Plan defining strategies and actions for addressing specific Contract requirements. Support the development of Claims strategy and monitor, develop and negotiate, when necessary defined claims
• Ensure all commercial deals perform to the budgeted P & L (Profit & Loss) and beyond and ensure that project execution aligns with commercial strategy
• Liaise and generate reports for “At Risk” projects. Resolve issues and ensure appropriate risk management initiatives are identified and implemented
• Ensure commercial correspondence is kept up to date and subcontract deliverables and contractual requirements are achieved
• Develop management reports on the progress of works including identification issues and early warnings. Check Daily Reports from sites against contract requirements and deadlines and inform Management on project performance against business metrics
• Assist the Finance Manager in preparing Annual budgets and financial forecasts for the Company. Ensure preparation of suitable planning guidelines, procedures to fulfill company’s business objectives
• Analyze current and future industry developments. Identify and develop new business opportunities and evaluate them with respect to price, capacity, and profitability
• Comply with, and contribute to the development and maintenance of all relevant Policies and Procedures regarding the handling of contractual matters
• Set and agree individual goals for all direct reports and evaluate individual performance, providing regular feedback and coaching in line with good people management practices

Desired Candidate Profile

• Degree in Engineering or equivalent
• 10-12 years of experience in contract management/administration including at least 5 years in Engineering and/or Construction sectors
• Membership of Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or Membership of Royal Institute of Arbitrators is advantageous
• Knowledge of legal and commercial terms and conditions of contract (FIDIC)
• Understanding of Letters of Intent and the basic necessities required to overcome risks that are often inherent in letters of intent
• Commercial and Contractual analysis of contracts and contractual situations
• Production of documentation for sub-contracts
• Cost reporting and budgetary control experience.
• Understanding of basic principles of Design Consultancy Agreements.
• Knowledge of Quantity Surveying and Claims administration.
• Ability to produce clear and concise reports and recommendations
