Your role

• To assist in ensuring that appropriate logistics systems are in place for all projects so as to reach the overall goal of 100% transparency and accountability of all logistics activities.
• Act as focal point for all logistics activity and management within the project team and establish good working relations within all departments.
• Carry out professional logistics planning to ensure appropriate and cost efficient procurement, stocking and distribution of all required relief supplies.
• Follow-up on the implementation of day to day project logistics activities.
• Keep daily updates on the orders status sheet and send a weekly update to the Procurement Manager.
• Ensure implementation of control and monitor mechanisms for all of projects logistics assets.
• Establish a monthly logistics reporting system to ensure that all activities are appropriately recorded and reported upon.
• Conduct regular field visits.
• On field visits, monitor, evaluate and train project staff on logistics systems and reporting.
• To manage and execute all logistics administrative duties such as keeping track of all procurement filing procedures and ensuring that all logistics forms are available at all times.
• Assist the Procurement Manager with other admin responsibilities as required.
• Responsible for monitoring the schedules are met, and the equipment and materials are delivered on site in a timely manner, in accordance with the construction needs.
• Closely monitor any delay and take necessary measurers to correct the situation.
• Arrange and coordinate delivery schedule to project for material and equipment. Ensures that delivery schedules are met specified purchases.
• Monitor product acceptability in terms of quality and cost of purchased materials and equipment.
• Examine documents, materials, and products, and monitor work processes, in order to assess completeness, accuracy, and conformance to standards and specifications.
• Maintain inventories of materials and supplies necessary to meet production demands.
• Analyze inventories to determine how to increase inventory turns, reduce waste, or optimize customer service. Uphold inventory integrity.
• Attend weekly Logistics Team meetings and participate in team decisions and operations.
• Ensure staff compliance to all established processes and accuracy in data processing.
• Ensure complete and accurate shipping and receiving documentation, including internal transfer requisitions.

Your competencies

• Understanding of Supply Chain Management, particularly procurement.
• Strong problem solving skills and analytical capabilities.
• Working knowledge of vehicle maintenance and mechanics.
• Sound basic knowledge of construction supplies and equipment.
• Must have experience working in the outdoor industry.
• Must have backpacking and outdoor living experience and minimal rock climbing and sailing experience.
• Must have the ability to work well under pressure and be well organized to manage people and be a team player.
• Must have good interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain good working relationships with clients, employees, and industry professionals.
• Must have effective oral and written communication skills and be able to articulate thoughts and ideas to others.
• Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality of files and other documents.
• Must have a demonstrated record of good work attendance and reliability.
• Must be flexible in work habits and work schedule.
• Must have adjustment skills and decision making skills considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
• Ability to absorb and synthesize a broad range of information.
