Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Position Overview

The Mechanical Job Performer is responsible for executing mechanical works at site as per approved procedures, method statements, and ADNOC standards. The role ensures that work activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and in compliance with the ADNOC Permit to Work (PTW) system, quality requirements, and project schedules.

Key Responsibilities

1. Work Execution

  • Carry out installation, maintenance, repair, and replacement of mechanical systems, piping, static & rotating equipment, valves, and related components.
  • Interpret and work from engineering drawings, isometrics, P&IDs, and equipment datasheets.
  • Perform mechanical works in compliance with ADNOC specifications, project procedures, and approved method statements.
  • Coordinate with Mechanical Supervisor to ensure resources, tools, and materials are available before job commencement.

2. Safety & Compliance

  • Hold valid ADNOC Job Performer Authorization for Mechanical discipline.
  • Follow ADNOC HSE procedures, PTW system, and implement Job Safety Analysis (JSA) before starting work.
  • Ensure compliance with LOTO (Lock-Out/Tag-Out) and isolation procedures.
  • Immediately report any unsafe conditions, near misses, or incidents to the Supervisor.

3. Permit to Work & Documentation

  • Review and understand the scope of work and associated hazards before applying for a permit.
  • Liaise with the Area Authority and Performing Authority to obtain work permits.
  • Ensure all required safety documents (JSA, Risk Assessments, Toolbox Talks) are completed and signed.
  • Maintain proper records of completed work as per project documentation requirements.

4. Coordination & Communication

  • Coordinate with other trades (electrical, instrumentation, scaffolding, rigging) for safe and efficient execution of tasks.
  • Attend daily toolbox talks and pre-job briefings.
  • Provide feedback to the Supervisor on job progress, constraints, and material requirements.

5. Quality Control

  • Follow inspection & test plans (ITP) and ensure works are carried out as quality standards.
  • Assist in the preparation and completion of mechanical inspection checklists.
  • Ensure proper handling and installation of mechanical equipment to avoid damage or quality issues.

Desired Candidate Profile

Required Qualifications & Certifications

  • Any qualification / DAE/BE in Mechanical / Civil Engineering or equivalent trade certificate.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in Oil & Gas EPC projects (onshore/offshore) as a Mechanical Job Performer.
  • ADNOC Job Performer Certification for Mechanical works (valid & current).
  • Knowledge of ADNOC PTW system and HSE regulations.
  • Familiar with ASME, API, and relevant mechanical codes.
  • Basic knowledge of rigging & lifting operations.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings & specifications.
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Awareness of hazardous area classification and control measures.
  • Commitment to safety and quality.

Physical & Work Conditions

  • Willing to work 6 days a week and extended hours if required.
  • Capable of working in extreme weather conditions (hot, humid, dusty).
  • Physically fit for handling tools, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces.
  • Able to work at height and in offshore environments if required.
