Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to accurately fabricate joinery components, ensuring precise dimensions and specifications are met.
  • Select and prepare timber and other materials, optimizing for quality, grain direction, and minimizing waste, to create visually appealing and structurally sound pieces.
  • Operate woodworking machinery, including saws, planers, and routers, safely and skillfully to shape and form wood, maintaining equipment and adhering to safety protocols.
  • Assemble joinery components using various joining techniques like mortise and tenon, dovetails, and dowels, ensuring strong and durable connections.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Possesses a relevant vocational qualification or apprenticeship in joinery or carpentry.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Exhibits extensive experience (minimum 5 years) in joinery, showcasing a diverse portfolio of completed projects.
  • Holds certifications in relevant areas, such as safe machinery operation and first aid.
