Roles & Responsibilities

Position: Joint Manager Legal

Location: Dubai, UAE
Department: Legal
Reporting To: Head Legal

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage IPR enforcement initiatives, including counterfeit market surveillance and coordination of enforcement raids.

  • Drive and monitor anti-counterfeit programs across Sub-Saharan Africa, China, UAE, and GCC regions.

  • Coordinate with external legal counsel for trademark infringement and brand protection actions.

  • Conduct due diligence and investigations on counterfeit or infringing activities.

  • Draft, review, and vet commercial contracts, legal documents, and agreements.

  • Provide expert advice on international commercial and corporate legal matters.

  • Ensure compliance with corporate secretarial requirements, including preparing agendas, resolutions, and maintaining board minutes.

  • Collaborate with internal business teams and international subsidiaries for legal and compliance-related matters.

  • Manage and maintain an efficient legal documentation and tracking system.

  • Support budget planning, monitoring, and control for the legal function.

  • Liaise with statutory authorities and government departments to ensure regulatory compliance.

  • Conduct legal research and provide insights for risk mitigation and strategic business decisions.

Skills and Competencies:

  • In-depth knowledge of IPR laws, trademark enforcement, and anti-counterfeiting regulations.

  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.

  • Strong understanding of corporate governance and compliance frameworks.

  • Ability to manage multi-jurisdictional enforcement actions effectively.

  • High degree of ethics, integrity, and confidentiality.

  • Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision

Desired Candidate Profile

Bachelor s degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized university (mandatory).

Additional qualifications such as LLM or a Postgraduate Diploma in Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) will be an added advantage.

Minimum 10 years of experience in the Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) domain.

Proven expertise in anti-counterfeit surveillance, investigation, and enforcement raids across Sub-Saharan Africa, UAE, and GCC countries.

Strong exposure to IPR enforcement, infringement actions, brand protection, and litigation support.

Experience handling secretarial and corporate legal matters, including Board and Regulatory compliances.

Prior exposure to FMCG, manufacturing, or consumer goods industries is preferred.
