Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Maintain impeccable cleanliness of all kitchen areas, including floors, walls, and equipment, adhering strictly to hygiene standards to ensure food safety and prevent contamination.
- Efficiently wash and sanitize all dishes, cookware, and utensils, ensuring sparkling results and a constant supply for kitchen operations, contributing directly to smooth service.
- Operate and maintain dishwashing machines, understanding proper loading techniques, chemical usage, and troubleshooting minor issues to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
- Organize and store clean dishes, equipment, and supplies in designated areas, optimizing space and ensuring easy access for kitchen staff, supporting their workflow.
- Empty and clean all trash receptacles and dispose of waste properly, including recycling, to maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment and comply with waste management protocols.
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks, such as washing vegetables or prepping ingredients, under the direction of chefs, providing support to the culinary team.
- Receive and organize deliveries of kitchen supplies, verifying items against invoices and storing them appropriately, ensuring accurate inventory management and preventing spoilage.
- Sweep and mop kitchen floors regularly, removing spills and debris promptly to prevent accidents and maintain a safe working environment for the entire team.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines, including proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment, to prevent injuries and ensure a safe workplace.
- Report any maintenance issues or equipment malfunctions to the appropriate personnel, ensuring timely repairs and preventing operational disruptions.
Desired Candidate Profile
- High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred, demonstrating a foundational level of education.
- Basic Food Handler's Certificate is a plus, showcasing an understanding of food safety practices.
- Prior experience in a kitchen or similar environment is advantageous, indicating familiarity with the fast-paced nature of the role.
- 1-2 years of experience in a kitchen environment is preferred, showing hands-on experience with kitchen operations.
- Open to all nationalities, welcoming a diverse range of candidates and perspectives.
- Proficiency in English is essential for communication and following instructions effectively.
- Ability to operate and maintain dishwashing machines and basic kitchen equipment, showcasing technical skills.
