Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Create detailed landscape designs using CAD software, ensuring aesthetic appeal and functionality while adhering to environmental regulations.
  • Conduct site analysis and assessments to determine the best design solutions that integrate natural and built environments.
  • Collaborate with architects, urban planners, and other stakeholders to develop cohesive project plans that align with community goals.
  • Select appropriate plant species based on climate, soil type, and maintenance requirements to promote sustainability and biodiversity.
  • Oversee the implementation of landscape projects, coordinating with contractors and suppliers to ensure adherence to design specifications.
  • Prepare cost estimates and project budgets, ensuring that landscape projects are completed within financial constraints.
  • Conduct post-project evaluations to assess landscape performance and make recommendations for improvements or adjustments.
  • Prepare and present proposals to clients, effectively communicating design concepts and their benefits.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and innovations in sustainable landscape practices and technologies.
  • Advocate for environmentally responsible practices and policies within landscape projects and the broader community.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, or a related field is essential for foundational knowledge.
  • A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in landscape design and project management, demonstrating a track record of successful projects.
  • Professional certification such as Landscape Architect Registration Exam (LARE) or similar credentials is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of local flora and fauna, as well as experience with sustainable design practices and native landscaping.
  • Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, or Adobe Creative Suite, showcasing technical competency.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with clients and team members.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Creativity and an eye for detail, allowing for innovative design solutions that enhance outdoor spaces.
  • Physical stamina and ability to conduct fieldwork, including walking, lifting, and working in various weather conditions.
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in additional languages is a plus, especially in multicultural urban environments.
